Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores through your browser. CHRGE also uses local storage and session storage, which serve similar purposes but are stored differently. This policy explains the technologies currently used by the CHRGE web experience and should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Strictly necessary technologies
These technologies support account security, session continuity, fraud prevention, load balancing and core navigation. The CHRGE refresh-session cookie is transmitted securely to keep you signed in and is not available to ordinary page scripts. Session storage may retain the identifier and reference of a CNG application draft so the form can continue safely in the current browser session.
Because these technologies are necessary to provide a service you request, they cannot be disabled through a CHRGE preference control. You can block them in your browser, but sign-in and protected features may stop working.
Preferences and local storage
CHRGE currently uses browser storage for:
- Theme: remembers light, dark or system appearance.
- CHRGE preferences: may remember non-sensitive profile hints, selected vehicle, saved stations and discovery filters on the device.
- Location preference: remembers whether browser location was granted or denied and, when granted, caches coordinates for up to 24 hours to support nearby-station results.
- CNG introduction: records the day the landing animation was last shown so it is not repeatedly played.
- CNG draft session: keeps a draft application reference only for the current tab or browser session.
Third-party technologies
Google sign-in and Google Maps may place or read their own cookies or storage when those features are loaded. Their handling is governed by Google's notices and your Google or browser settings. Infrastructure, security and hosting providers may also process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the service.
Analytics and advertising
The current CHRGE web application does not intentionally deploy advertising cookies or behavioural-advertising trackers. If we introduce non-essential analytics, personalisation or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and provide a consent choice where required before activating them.
How long technologies remain
Session technologies expire when the session ends or at their security expiry. Persistent preferences remain until their configured expiry, until CHRGE replaces them, or until you clear site data. The account refresh session is currently designed to expire or rotate within the security period configured by CHRGE; signing out revokes the active session.
Your choices
You can clear or block cookies and site data through your browser. You can also deny or revoke location access in browser or device settings, change the CHRGE theme, sign out to revoke the active account session, and avoid Google-powered features. Blocking necessary storage may prevent authentication, saved preferences, maps, nearby results or application drafts from functioning.
Where consent is the legal basis for a future non-essential technology, declining or withdrawing consent will not affect strictly necessary storage.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy as our technology changes. The draft date above shows the current version. Questions about cookies or browser storage may be sent to team@gochrge.com.
